General Questions
The Slovak motorway vignette is a digital permit — in the form of a PDF invoice — linked to your licence plate. It replaces the old sticker system and is required to use most motorways and expressways in Slovakia.
- Cars, vans, and camper-vans up to 3.5 tonnes.
 - Trailers if the combination with the towing vehicle exceeds 3.5 tonnes.
 - Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes need a special on-board toll unit (not a vignette).
 - Motorcycles do not need a vignette.
 
All Slovak motorways (“diaľnice”) and most expressways (“rýchlostné cesty”) are vignette roads. Local, regional, and secondary roads remain free of charge. You can find more details in our Blog section, where we cover specific roads and toll segments.
Yes. At many border crossings and petrol stations, you’ll find self-service terminals or staffed counters where you can purchase a vignette. However, availability can be limited, especially at night or in smaller crossings. Buying online at Vignetteslovakia.com is faster and ensures you are covered before entering the motorway.
Validity & Enforcement
You can choose from:
- 1-day vignette
 - 10-day vignette
 - 30-day vignette
 - 365-day vignette All vignettes are valid until midnight of the last day chosen.
 
Slovakia uses a camera-based control system and mobile patrols equipped with hand scanners. These check your licence plate against the central vignette database. You don’t need to display anything physically.
No. Vignettes are only valid from the start date you select at purchase — they cannot be applied retroactively. If you drive on toll roads without a valid vignette, you risk a fine. Always buy your vignette before entering the motorway. For step-by-step instructions, see How It Works.
Yes. If you provide your email, we will send a reminder before expiry.
You need an on-board unit from SkyToll. You can find more information about it here.
After Purchase
By email. It includes your vignette details (licence plate, validity period, vehicle class) and, if requested, an invoice.
Printing is not required — enforcement is electronic. But you can print the confirmation for your own peace of mind.
Contact us immediately. If the vignette hasn’t yet started, we may be able to correct it. For urgent issues, call us directly. Our contact details are available on our Contact Us page.
No, once your vignette is issued, we cannot make changes. If you really need to make changes, you will need to buy a new vignette.
Please double-check your SPAM inbox. If you did not get an email there, you’ve probably made a mistake in your email address. Please send us an email at support@vignetteslovakia.com with your full name and licence plate number, and we will take care of it.

Yes. We use SSL/HTTPS and work only with certified partners, such as Mollie, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. We never store your card details ourselves.
Yes. You’ll receive a confirmation email automatically. If you requested an invoice during checkout, it will be attached.

As soon as your vignette is issued by EZNAMKA, cancellation and refund are not possible anymore.
The official system supports only six languages and just Visa/Mastercard. At Vignetteslovakia.com, you get:

Yes. We charge a small fee for processing, multilingual support, secure payments, and instant availability. We always show the total amount before payment. Details are explained on our Price Overview page.
Fines & Exemptions
You risk fines, which are far higher than the vignette itself. Fines are enforced via cameras and mobile patrols.
If you drive without a valid vignette, you will receive a fine of at least 150 euros.
Yes, the fine will be sent by mail and payment will be enforced based on European law. Although Great Britain left the European Union, you will still be required to pay the fine.
Yes. Motorcycles, emergency vehicles, and certain disabled persons’ vehicles are exempt.
Refunds & Cancellations
Under EU law, you can revoke a purchase within 14 days. But if you request immediate activation of your vignette, cancellation is no longer possible once it has been registered. Full details are in our General Terms and Conditions.
Contact us. Refunds for duplicate payments are usually processed within five business days.
